Overview
Embark on a once‑in‑a‑lifetime adventure into Uganda’s lush Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—the home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Over three days, you’ll journey from the city to the forest, experience an exhilarating trek through challenging terrain, and finally return with unforgettable memories of close encounters with these gentle giants.
Note: Gorilla trekking permits (around USD 800 per person) and international airfares are not included. Early booking of permits, accommodations, and transportation is essential.
Morning:
• Arrive in Kampala/Entebbe and meet your English‑speaking driver/guide.
• Begin your scenic road transfer toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.En Route:
• Stop at the Equator: Enjoy a brief break, take photos, and try a fun “water experiment” as you cross the equator.
• Lunch in Mbarara: Refresh with a hearty meal amid Uganda’s picturesque countryside.Afternoon/Evening:
• Continue the drive (approximately 8–9 hours total) through diverse landscapes until you reach Bwindi.
• Check in at your chosen lodge (options range from budget community camps to mid‑range or luxury lodges).
• Enjoy dinner and a short orientation session to prepare you for tomorrow’s trek.
Early Morning:
• Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge.
• Depart promptly for the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for a mandatory briefing on trekking guidelines and safety protocols.Trekking Experience:
• Your small group (typically 6–8 people) will be assigned a specific gorilla family by experienced park rangers.
• Begin your trek on foot into the dense, lush forest. Depending on the gorillas’ location, the hike may take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours.
• Upon locating the gorilla group, you’ll have up to one hour to observe and photograph these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.Afternoon:
• After the memorable encounter, trek back to the park headquarters.
• Return to your lodge for a late lunch and a well‑earned rest.Optional Activity:
